Brewer Info: Steven’s Point Brewery HistoryThe Stevens Point Brewery is steeped in a history that has transcended the trials of the Civil War, the Great Depression and Prohibition. More than 150 years later, the Stevens Point Brewery continues to successfully brew quality beer, just as the brewery’s founders, Frank Wahle and George Ruder, did in 1857. This undeniable endurance is a testament of why the Stevens Point Brewery, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, is the 5th oldest continuously operating brewery remaining in the United States. Today, the Stevens Point Brewery is proud to be Wisconsin-owned and independently operated. We take great pride in our history. And, we continue to work hard, as our founders did, to continue to provide our customers today with quality award-winning beer
Brewer Brand Hype: Point Cascade Pale Ale is handcrafted combining special top-fermenting yeast and a dry hopping process to create this truly classic American Pale Ale. The intriguing character is derived from generous quantities of the choicest Yakima Valley Cascade hops and the finest crystal, 2-row pale, and Munich malts. The result is a delicious American Pale Ale with a signature fragrant hop bouquet and soft malt palate.
Label: Hand Crafted. Point Well Made.
The Brewski Review: Did I tell mention that my wife picked up a six pack of IPA for me a few weeks ago. She hunted and pecked until she thought she found the perfect set. Little did she know she stuffed an American Pale Ale in with the IPA’s. Stevens Point Cascade Pale Ale is that APA. I can say that I liked it a little better than the IPA’s I’ve been downing lately. This one has the hoppy bitterness but not as much as there seems to be with an IPA. For that reason, I could drink a six pack of this brand. It was cold and crisp and went down fast. Try some Stevens Point APA yourself and let me know what you think.
Drinkability: Yes. Would drink again.
Appearance: Light golden color. Quick dissolving head.
The Buds: Good. Hoppy but not as bitter as an IPA.
TBR Cap Rating: 3.75 caps out of 5.

Here are a few vintage bud advertisements that make you wish for simpler times. I was just a glimmer in my mother’s eye when these ads saw their debut, but it still makes me yearn for a time before cell phones, cable news, wi-fi, rap music, bad 80’s hairstyles and celebrities who aren’t. Ahhhh!

Aren't you glad? Springtime is a happy time. And the best place to be is close to a bud. Cold, refreshing Budweiser....the King of Beers.

KNOW HIM! He's the easiest man in town to meet. Just visit your friendly tavern and ask for Budweiser....King of Beers.
I penned a post on 7.29.10 for Killians Irish Red that notes what my bartender would look like if I owned my own place. This smartly dressed man is what I pictured. Not a punk with a nose/ear/belly ring in a graphic tee shirt advertising his favorite band. Oh yeah, I dig that vintage light behind him as well.

Does anyone remember paying $0.25 for a beer? This would be a great vintage sign to have. Although, the only place my wife would allow me to hang it would probably be the garage or basement.

The Brewski Report Takes a Closer Look at Rolling Ads.
File Date: 7.24.10
I’m a fan of graphics - tee shirts, signs, ads, etc. I especially like auto graphics. Vehicle wraps are creative and visually stimulating to me. A while back my brother asked me if I wanted to get into the wrap business. Mind you, this was long before it hit mainstream. I said, who’d want to put advertisements all over their car? Duh! I never even considered non-advertising graphics that could substitute for custom paint. Opportunity was knocking his knuckles on my skull and I was completely oblivious. Oh well. Here are a few rolling ads for your viewing pleasure.

Bud Lime on Sale...That is, Sail.

A Streetcar Makes Me Desire Bud Lime

They Could Have At Least Put Some Chrome Dubs On this Dry Van.

Chick-Mobile.

Even If I Didn't Work For Spoetzl Brewery I'd Still Wrap My Van Like This.

Carib Beer Get’s an A+ for Marketing Their Flagship Brand.
If you read my review on Carib Beer you may have noticed that I wasn’t fond of it. But, that doesn’t take away from the fact that I think they do a great job marketing their brand in Trinidad and Tobago. Check out their web site and you’ll see what I’m talking about. They’re a consumate sponser of local events. It certainly doesn’t hurt that they parade around a bevy of local talent that’s probably, just a guess here, easier on the eye than a sharp poke with a stick. Definitely a positive approach to enticing the young, modern and fashionable males to increase their consumption. I’m sure it would work on me if I was in that locale. Beer 101: Sex Sells.

I happen to like the concept of 'Beer Girls'. What would the world be like today if there were Bud Girls at every sponsored event?

Girls on the beach promoting beer. Q: What's wrong with this concept. A: Nonthing.

Carib is a large sponsor of the local Carnival as seen in this Bumper Sticker.

Carib Beer Party Van? C'mon girls....Pile In!

Carib Beer even highlights it's Carnival sponsorship on their packaing. Pure Genius!

Tecate's controversial marketing campaign.

A Cerveza Tecate web ad that makes my mouth water.

I wonder how many of these banners are hung on dorm walls?
