Bass became one of the top breweries in the UK, its pale ale was exported throughout the British Empire, the company’s distinctive red triangle becoming the UK’s first registered trademark.

The Brewski Review: Bass Stout is one of the main ingredients in a wonderful beverage capull one together but just couldn’t do it this afternoon. Not that this short story has any bearing on this beer, but I do remember my first Black & Tan when I was working in San Diego. Some of the work compadres and myself loosened our ties and went out to a bar after work (which, I couldn’t name now if someone was waving a Woodrow Wilson in my face) where our boss introduced us to this wonderful liquid concoction. I would have to admit that I was surprisingly blown away. Needless to say, it was my new go-to beer when I was out and about. Now-a-days, I don’t drink them very often but when the opportunity presents itself I’m sure to take advantage. I think this Bass, as well as the Pale Ale, has been sitting in my fridge since St. Patrick’s day when I had every intention on pouring one up. It didn’t work out at that time but I’ll get around to it one of these days. And, I’m sure I’ll enjoy every last drop of it. This Bass Stout in itself was pretty darn good. It has a nice roasted malt taste, without being too heavy, and poured with a quickly dissipating head that lingered just long enough to leave a little lace on the sides of the glass. I would definitely drink this again even if it’sot sitting on top of the Pale Ale in the same glass.
Drinkability: Would and will drink again.
Appearance: Black w/ mud colored head.
The Buds: Nice malty taste.
